Stories of Rocks and Ghosts for Children and Parents
An Introduction
There was a little girl, a long time ago who always walked with her eyes gazing at her feet or raised to the skies above.Years later she met a man who told her that was wrong and she should keep her eyes straight ahead to the road in front of her, but that was never who she was, so we’ll return to that little girl once again.
The little girl had a fascination with rocks and often stopped in her tracks for one that called to her until, finally, her pockets fat with the weight of them; she’d turn and trudge on home. The extra weight made it a little more difficult, so every once in awhile she’d stop, lie down on the ground, and lose herself in the clouds floating overhead. She would see wonderful pictures in those clouds.Sometimes there were puppies, sometimes she’d see frogs, and sometimes even elephants and tigers would float through the skies and she would make up stories about the things she saw in her mind. And sometimes, on very special days, the clouds would become angels, princesses and beautiful castles in the air. That little girl loved the days that happened and her stories in her mind would be sooo colorful and bright.
Time was of no importance to the little girl at that time, and she was in no hurry.Eventually, when the time felt right, she’d get up and move on for a little while until the clouds called her name again. Many stops and starts later, the little girl would arrive home, unload her treasure, and gaze at it in a sort of awed pleasure for a while.
That little girl met many people along her way and each would have a few words to say. Some words she would listen to and tuck away for later, and some she’d block or throw away. They weren’t meant for her.As the little girl grew older, many things happened to her and these are the stories we’ll share with you – little bit by little bit because that is the way things are meant to unfold and be treasured.
The next story you will hear is of that little girl all grown up and a grandma now.But always, where it counts the most, she is still the little girl with her eyes gazing at her feet and raised to the skies and the clouds that float overhead.
The sun in the sky is an open door To wonders and glories to great to score. I love my life and I hope each day The joy that I feel is the norm for you today; To know just why you chose this way – The child you were and are today.
